CVS Return Policy

CVS Return Policy:

I bought about $25 worth of Eucerin body wash last week.  It was a
special where I received a $10 ECB when I spent $25.50 on Eucerin products.  Well, I love Eucerin and wanted to get it for my husband who is diabetic and has very dry skin.  Anyway, the body wash is very low sudsing, smells awful, and I could not detect any benefit from using it.  I tried it myself first.  I actually read reviews on the CVS website that said exactly the same thing but decided to try it anyway because Eucerin products are usually very good for dry/sensitive skin.  I should have heeded the advice in the reviews.

Last night, I happened upon an article about CVS and their return policy.  In short, the article stated that CVS has a very liberal return policy and will give you your money back even if you have opened and/or used the product.  This was specifically in reference to beauty products.  Body wash is a beauty care product. If you do not like it, just return it.  If you do not have a receipt, you will receive a CVS money card (store credit).
Eucerin Calming Body Wash Daily Shower Oil
So, I took all three bottles back today (including the one I used and it was now only half full).  I did have my receipt.  They gave me all of my money back on a CVS card because I had not paid any cash for the $25.50 worth of Eucerin body wash.  Last week, I used a combination of manufacturers coupons and ExtraCareBucks to get it for free and then got $11 back in more ExtraCareBucks.  I was able to keep my $11 in ExtraCareBucks and was made whole with the CVS money card.  And yes, the clerk knew the bottle was about half empty because she held it up to the light to check and I told her it was, as well.

I still love Eucerin products but will not buy the body wash again.

Couponing in the Sunshine State

Just for the record, let me say that I hate couponing in Florida and any state that does not double coupons!  I really think that it is psychological because believe it or not most retailers nationwide and even in my home state of Maryland do not double coupons.  I have not clipped more than two or three coupons over the last two months.

The only place where I have been couponing is at my local pharmacy. I love CVS ExtraCareBucks and cannot resist using them for some really great deals. Thankfully, I loaded up the motorhome cupboards with items from my home “storehouse”.  I have only had to spend money on fresh veggies and fruits, bread, milk, eggs, and cheese. I really loaded our freezer with about 25 or 30 pounds of meat (poultry, seafood, beef, pork, and lamb).

We are trying to be very productive with our time and are scheduled to teach our coupon class about 6 times before returning home in May.  It is so much fun watching people learn how to save money on their groceries and other household items.

There are some great coupons coming out Sunday, March 3rd.  Remember, that the best deals happen when you have at least two or three coupons for each product.  Many times, the sales are for multiple items.  For example, BOGO (buy one get one free) items can be great deals if you have two coupons and use one on each bogo item.  Most stores do allow this.

Finally, I was able to get a great deal on my local newspaper (The Washington Post).  I cancelled my paper before departing for Florida.  Naturally, they contacted me (via email) to lure me back at 59¢/wk for 1 year for the Sunday only subscription.  Well, I contacted them and told them that I only buy the newspaper for the coupons and wanted to get four papers for the same rate.  Yes, they gave me the 4 newspapers for 59¢ each per week for one year.  The store price is $2.25 per Sunday.

I suspended the subscription until the first Sunday in April.  I will have a nice stack of coupon inserts waiting for me when I return home in May.  My stockpile is getting really sparse and I will have to spend about two months restocking the shelves and freezer when we get home.  I love couponing!
Stay warm and happy couponing!

Hey, Everyone

I made a big haul this week on some high value CVS Extra Care Bucks. There are always folks who say that you don't really save any money when you use coupons and that the Extra Care Bucks are a big scam.  And the biggest naysayers to couponing say, "How can you save money when you have to spend your money to get the money back on ECBs?"

Well, here's my response to those naysayers.  I got $19 of CVS's money this week and did not spend a single penny!  How did I get them?  Well, if you remember I told you one of my strategies with CVS is not to buy anything there for a couple of weeks.  I have not bought anything at CVS in over three weeks.  They missed me so they sent me a $4 ECB to lure me into the store.

One of my many virtues is "patience".  Actually, I am still waiting on it but that's another story.  Anyway, I waited for some other goodies to come my way from CVS.  I told you all some time ago to join the CVS Advisor team.  They award some great ECBs for completing surveys.  You can join the team by going to  CVSadvisor.com

I got in on two surveys this week and received $10 for one and $5 on another.  So, my total CVS ECBs this week totaled $19!  I will walk into CVS tomorrow and start my shopping with $19 of CVS's money.

In addition, I scanned by CVS card at the Redbox (here in Florida it is blue) and received several coupons.  One was for $2.50 off Colgate MaxClean, Max White, or MaxFresh toothpaste 6 oz size.  CVS has a special this week and those Colgate toothpastes will be just 50¢ with the coupon and if I use the 50¢ coupon from the insert in January, it will be free!

Now, don't start hatin'. You can do the same thing or better. Follow these steps:
  • Register your CVS card online (you will receive a $5 ECB in your email).
  • Register to be a CVS Advisor on CVSadvisor.com
  • Scan your CVS card everytime you enter the CVS pharmacy.
  • Register for the pharmacy CVS ECB program to receive $5 in ECBs with every 10th prescription you fill at the pharmacy.
  • Shop online with CVS.com and sign out just before you click the submit button for your order and leave your "shopping basket" full.   You will receive a big discount offer from CVS to get you to submit that order.
  • If it is not on sale, you don't have a coupon, and don't have any ECBs, don't buy it.
  • Always pair your ECBs with coupons and sales!
Follow those steps and you can get a fist full of ExtraCareBucks, too.

Happy Couponing!

Great Printable Coupons!

Here are some awesome printable coupon links via couponmom.com.  You will need to register first but after that you can access the entire website.  I learned to coupon by using her website nearly two years ago.  There is more than enough information to help you become the best bizzy coupon bee in your favorite neighborhood stores.

As always, if you need some one on one help via email or by phone, just drop me a line and I will be more than happy to help.  Can't find that one coupon that would make your shopping trip worth the drive, let me know and I just might be able to find it for you.

I must admit that I am not having any luck couponing in Florida.  First, I just don't have the space to store anything else in our motorhome.  Second, the fact that no stores in Florida double coupons has made my shopping trips less than stellar.  Finally, I just don't have the need for doing too much shopping because I brought so much stuff from my stockpile with us on this trip.

I have lots and lots of canned goods, toiletries, dish & laundry detergent, boxed goods, paper goods, and frozen food items.  Except for milk, eggs, fresh veggies, I have not been buying a lot of groceries.

Truth be told, we spend much less while here than we do when at home.  So, I look at this coupon draught as a real savings opportunity.  We are living off our stockpile and trying to stay away from the stores.  That's really the best way to save on groceries... Stay out of the grocery store & Don't shop!

Happy Couponing!

I'm Back...

Hey, Everyone

I really hope you have missed me...at least, a little bit.
I and my sweetie have been sick since January 6th (my birthday and yes I am still accepting cash, gift cards, blank checks, and unopened Christmas gifts).

We taught a coupon class in Ocean City MD this past weekend even though we were both still trying to recover from bad colds.  Anyway, I have not touched, clipped, stuffed or seen an actual coupon in so long that I am going through withdrawal.

Here are a few great online printable coupon sites:
