Partial Coupon Preview for July 26th

Hey, Y'all!
It looks like we will not get inserts this coming week (July 19th).  But, the sales will still happen and the coupon stash you have will help you rake in a boat-load of money saving deals.

Back-to-School sales are in full force.  Keep an eye out for coupons to match with those sales.  The best thing to do is to scan the sales fliers; circle the items you want to buy; now check a coupon database to see if there is a coupon to stack with that sale.

How can you tell it is really a good sale?  My standard is that I want the sale price to be at least 30% lower than the regular price.  The coupon (if you have one) will usually drop the price another 20-30% or more.

Here's the coupon previews for July 26, 2015 - FIVE inserts are expected.  I am so excited that I can hardly type: Two RedPlum, Two SmartSource, and the PG Insert for August!
Here's the coupon insert schedule for August 2015:
August
 2015

2 – RedPlum, SmartSource
9 – RedPlum, SmartSource
16 – SmartSource
23 – RedPlum, SmartSource
30 – RedPlum, SmartSource, P&G

$6 Savings added to your account!

Hey, Y'all!

SavingStar's profile photoI hope you can see what I got in my email this morning from Saving Star(Check the message below.)  I selected two deals from the many choices of products that I intended to buy.  The deals were: buy one Noxzema product and get $1 and/or buy $20 worth of Noxzema and/or Ponds products and get $5 added to my Saving Star account.

I cashed in on both deals and now have $6 just for shopping for products I was going to buy anyway.  But, I made the deal even sweeter because I used a 25% off CVS ExtraCare coupon.  Ponds and Noxzema have been a staple for the women in my family for three generations.  My grandma had not one wrinkle when she died at 98 and my mother has not one wrinkle and she is 90.  Y'all know me...I'm almost 70, see any wrinkles? :o)

Here's some money saving beauty advice from someone who only wears red lipđź’‹stick.  If you are over 40 and don't have wrinkles or your momma and grand momma don't have wrinkles, save your money.  Don't waste it on anti-wrinkle potions.  Just get a jar of a gentle soap or face cleanser and a moisturizer.  Hey, I just saved you a bundle without using coupons. :o)

This Saving Star deal and others can be found with this link:  SavingStar.com  The sign up effort depends entirely upon how many customer loyalty cards you are packing.  I have over 40!  So, it took me a minute or two :o)  But, by spending the time, Saving Star helped me get my 28" View Sonic computer monitor for FREE

While you are still in sign up mode, sign up for Checkout51.com.  Be sure you are connected to the USA site and not the Canadian site when you sign up.  Look in the upper right-hand corner for the USA flag symbol.

Finally, sign up for high dollar ExtraCare Bucks on CVSAdvisor.com  You will receive surveys from CVS a few times a year to complete for $5, $10, and even $15 a pop.  I have completed at least 5 or more this year and could have done more.  However, the links to the surveys appear randomly and if you are not sitting at your computer to jump on them when they appear, you will miss out.  The site is very popular and only accepts a fixed number of participants for a survey.  I have missed checking my email several times only to find out I missed a survey.  Surveys are based on your spending habits and if you don't meet the profile for a survey, you will not be compensated.

That's it!

Happy Couponing!

It's Time to Save...

Hey, Y'all!

Here are the coupon previews for next week.
Check the expiration dates of the coupons in the coupon inserts closely.  Some expire in as few as 8 days (7/20).

Staples has copy paper on sale for 1¢/ream this week (after rebate).  The sale ends Saturday.  Check the link each week because the 1¢ sale runs quite often.  You can buy up to 4 reams per day per person.  You can sign up for a free Staples account. You will have access to sales before the general public.  Also, sign up for the Staples Rewards account on the same page.

Egg prices are on the rise due to the shortage that came about when millions of laying hens had to be slaughtered due to the bird flu epidemic in the mid-west.  So, the buy price for a dozen eggs is usually $1.05 or less per dozen.  Now, the buy price is around $1.50 to $1.70 per dozen at least until the hens hatching now start laying eggs in 6 months.  That means we should see lower egg prices right around the Christmas holidays.  Merry Christmas!

Back to School sales will start popping up very soon.  If you see a sale and don't have a coupon, get a rain check.  Hold on to that rain check until you have a coupon to stack with it.  In some cases, that stacked coupon and rain check could make for some sweet deals resulting in free items.

Finally, I had hoped to do an online coupon forum this week but have been bogged down in paper work.  I will try for next week but I can't promise because we may have 8 of our grandkids again for a couple of weeks.  Whew!  I need a nap.

Happy Couponing!

Every Penny Counts!

Hey, Y'all!

Is it time for you to renew your cell phone contract?  Even if it is not, here's what you should do every 6 months or so.

Call your cell phone provider.  Mine is ATT.  I would like to use some of the other providers but ATT is the only one that gives us great reception in some of the really secluded places we travel with our motorhome.

Anyway, I pay $115+tax per month for 700 minutes w/rollover; unlimited texting (I do not text); and 4 gigs of data; two numbers.  So, I called yesterday and said, "I would like to lower my monthly bill, can you help me?"  Response, "Oh, yes...let me see what I can do for you, Mrs. Conway."

That sweetie gave me more for less money. I now have unlimited talking; unlimited texting (I still don't text); 3 gigs of data (I was only using 1.5 gigs/month.); all for $85+tax per month.  I lowered my bill by $30 a month just by asking.  They would never have called me to make me an new offer and they will not call you either.  Y'all better call somebody!

Happy couponing!

Coupons Reloaded for July!

Good Morning!
If you haven't done so, go to coupons.com and download your favorite coupons.  They have been restocked for the new month.  The more popular coupons will go first.

Coupons.com has over $700 in coupons ready to clip.  Read the coupons carefully.  I have noticed a new trend in coupons that do not double.  More and more of the brands that used to be free because of doubling no longer publish coupons that do so.

Don't forget to check the digital coupons on your favorite supermarket's website.  These digital coupons will link to your loyalty card but can only be redeemed once.  You can stack your manufacturer's coupon with the digital coupon for greater savings.

Check some of these links below for new coupons and old ones that have been restocked.  Each new month brings a boatload of potential deal makers. Register for free on each of these websites to access the best coupons.
  • Betty Crocker Products - $329 worth of coupons
  • P&G Everyday - $200+ worth of coupons
  • SmartSource - $100+ worth of coupons
  • RedPlum - 49 coupons
  • *Printable Rebate Forms - This site has no coupons but it does have at least 100 rebate forms for products you use everyday.  Check the list for products you use or want to try and pair it with a coupon for even more savings.  Their may be a few dead links but it is well worth it to get the benefit of the others that do connect.

Happy Couponing!

New "To Me" Supermarket

What the heck is "Price Right"?  I got a sales flyer in my weekend paper this morning for "Price Rite".  I had never heard of it.  So, I looked it up and found locations for Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island & Virginia.  Here's the stores for Maryland.
  • 3104 Queen's Chapel RD -Hyattsville, MD - 301.887.1280
  • 5800 Silver Hill RD -District Heights, MD - 301.967.0513
  • Meadows Park Shopping Center - 6606 Security Blvd - Gwynn Oak, MD - 410.277.8902

I really got excited when I saw the sale on 40 oz. TIDE Simply Fresh for $2!
I bought some $2 TIDE a couple of weeks ago (@ShopRite) but had to use $1 coupons that doubled to $2.
The sale starts July 1 and ends July 11.
I do not know how the prices of other items in the store compares to using coupons at other stores.  Price Rite does not accept any manufacturers' coupons.

How do they keep their prices so low:
  • limit quantities to 4 like items;
  • have smaller store staff numbers;
  • rarely advertise;
  • charge for grocery bags;
  • no rainchecks
  • No weekly circulars
  • No expensive store decor
  • Limiting the numbers of items we stock
  • Customers bring their own shopping bags
  • Smaller more shopable stores
Here's the link to the current (thru 6.30.15) Price Rite "Hot Buys".
Be sure to register on their site for weekly deals because they rarely advertise.

Milk on sale at Walgreens $2.79 and large eggs $1.29 dz. my buy price is 10¢ per egg.  My stock up price to buy multiple dozens of eggs is 8¢ per egg.  My best price for 1 dz eggs was "free" a few months ago.  I hit a really great sale and used coupons to score that great deal last year. I try to keep 6 dozen eggs in my refrigerator at all times.  My 11 grandchildren stayed with me this week.  Out of the 71/2  (90 eggs) we bought last week and the dozen or so I had on hand, we used the last dozen this morning...WOW! They go home tomorrow.  Time to buy more eggs.

Finally, school supplies are starting to show up in the stores.  Don't buy now.  Wait until the coupons start showing up in July for more savings. Don't just buy what you or your children will use for the first week or so.  This will be your chance to stockpile school supplies for the rest of the year!

Coupon Preview

Quick Update:
Coupon Preview for next week's inserts
SmartSource - 6.28.15
Use the $1/2 coupon in the RedPlum insert for $1 pints of Ben & Jerry's ice cream at Harris Teeter.  Their "Super Doubles Event" is this week and ends Tuesday.  All coupons with a face value up to $2 will double.  So, all your $2 coupons will be worth $4 as long as the coupon does not say "Do Not Double".

I have had my 11 grandchildren all week.  One went back home for cheerleading camp and then there were still 10!  I have not touched an insert or coupon in 8 days!!!  Thank goodness for my stockpile :0)

My crew leaves Sunday afternoon.  I will be sad to see them go but I need a nap!
