Weekend Quickies

Hey, Y'all!

We are all crying about the yucky weather this coming weekend.  But, there is a sunny side to all of this rainy weather besides May flowers.  Rainy weather is great couponing weather.  The stores will be empty and the shelves full.  So, right after church (or before), head out to your favorite supermarket.  It is supposed to be rainy here in Maryland for the next 5-7 days.  I am heading out this afternoon and again tomorrow.

Awesome coupons expected this weekend.  Check each newspaper you buy or have delivered to be sure that all 5 of your inserts are inside.  Unfortunately, people are actually stealing the inserts from the newspapers.

Look through your inserts and inspect each coupon for the expiration dates.  I have noticed a trend where coupons have expiration dates of less than 1 week after they appear in the inserts.

Here are the five inserts we are looking for this weekend:
The five inserts expected this weekend:  RedPlum #1   RedPlum #2      SmartSource #1    SmartSource #2  P&G 5/1
The actual inserts and the coupons they contain will vary from state to state, city to city, and even from one neighborhood to another.  The face value of the coupons and the number of inserts will also depend on the region, city, or state where you buy your paper.

Local Deal:  Shoppers -1 doz. Eggs - 88¢/dz!!  Over the next several weeks/months egg and poultry prices should be really great.  The outdoor grilling season will be in full force right around Memorial Day and there should be plenty of chicken, rib, and hot dog sales showing up in your local stores.  Also, look for great sale prices on bbq sauce, pickles, relish, mustard, and ketchup, too.

Other Store Sneak Peeks - updated bi-weekly as new sneak peeks become available

Next, don't forget to get rain checks when an item you want is gone.  Save those rain checks and make your own sale when coupons for those items become available...OR write to the manufacturer(s) and request coupons OR go their website or facebook page to see if they have coupons available.

Finally, if you ever need a coupon for an item and need help finding one, please send me an email or give me a phone call.  I usually have pretty good luck finding coupons for items.

Happy Couponing!

It's Q-pon Christmas in May!

Hey, Y'all!
We are expecting FIVE (5) coupon inserts this weekend.  I hear through the coupon grapevine that there will be some awesome coupon match ups that will save us all tons of money.  I will send a list of my favorite coupon matchup sites tomorrow.  Match up sites are websites, twitter, or facebk pages that actually post sales and the coupons to use with those deals to get items for free or almost free.

Note:  Yes, I am on facebook, instagram, and twitter.  However, I do not accept friend requests because I only have those accounts for the coupons and deals.  AND, with ten kids, I really don't have the time to chit chat on social media and then hang around to see if someone liked what I posted.   May be in a few years, once I get organized. :o)

The five inserts expected this weekend:  RedPlum #1   RedPlum #2      SmartSource #1    SmartSource #2  P&G 5/1
As always, the actual inserts and the coupons they contain will vary from state to state, city to city, and even from one neighborhood to another.  The face value of the coupons and the number of inserts will also depend on the region, city, or state where you buy your paper.

I have been testing out a website that claims to stop those annoying robocalls.  At its peak, we were receiving so many robocalls that we stopped answering our home phone and only used the cell phones.  Blocking did not work because the robocallers/telemarketers started cloning other phone numbers.  Want to stop the robocalls for good??? Go to Nomorobo.com.

I was getting at least 15 to 20+ calls a day.  Now, I get zero!!!  I followed the directions carefully and did exactly what they said to do.  Now, I can answer my home phone without hearing, "Hi, this is Debbie from cardholder services...".  In the first couple of days, a call or two got through.  But, all I had to do was add that particular number to the Nomorobo blocked list and finally we are robocall free!  There is no charge for the service.

If you have elderly parents, sign them up for this service.  The elderly are especially susceptible to robocall or telemarketer scams.  They are lonely and just want someone to talk to.  So, sign them up and then call and spend a few moments on the phone with them and ask about their day.

Enjoy the cool weather.

CVS Advisor Panel & Blue Cross Blue Shield Rewards

Hey, Y'all!

I am so incredibly busy and have been over the last six months.  I promise when I get a moment to do so, I will tell you all a little about my family's journey to recovery.  But, in the meantime, I will give you a little help I can give you to help you save more dollars everyday.

First, I want to encourage you to join the CVS Advisor Panel.  Once you join, about once a month and sometimes less often, you will get an invite to complete a survey.  If you qualify for the survey, you will receive a CVS ExtraCare Bucks Reward for from $5 to $15.  The survey posts in the wee hours of the morning and occasionally early afternoon.  You really have to jump on it because once the available slots have been filled, the survey closes.   I lucked up on $5 this morning.  I will use that $5 to grab some great discounts this coming weekend.
Click this link: <https://cvs.opinioninsight.com/> or <CVSAdvisor.com>

Next, if you are have CareFirst Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance or FEPBlueCross/BlueShield Insurance,
you are sitting on a veritable gold mine of rewards.  These rewards are meant to monitor your health and get you on the road to a healthier lifestyle.
Depending upon your age and when your coverage began, you have from 120 days to one year to complete the tasks.
Each adult
can "earn from $100 to $600 to a family maximum of $75 to $1,500 per year for taking certain steps to get and stay healthy.
Your reward can be used toward your annual deductible; out-of-pocket costs like co-pays;
coinsurance related to eligible expenses (medical, prescription drugs, dental, and vision)..."

As far as I could tell from my online "research" all other brands of Blue Cross Blue Shield offer the "Blue Rewards".
You can find out for certain by either calling the customer service number on the back of your insurance card
or go to your Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance website and search "blue rewards".

(Each task below will earn you FEPBlue Cross/Blue Shield "Blue Rewards")

I did not do any "Blue Rewards" tasks last year and I could just kick myself for missing out on all that money.
The previous year my husband and I earned a total of about $400 and did not complete all the tasks.

After completing your first task, you will receive a debit/credit card.
The card will be automatically loaded with rewards every time you complete a task.
The "Blue Rewards" debit card can only be used for co-pays, prescription meds, over the counter meds, and other health related purchases.

Here are the links to sign up:   CareFirst "Blue Rewards", FEPBlue Rewards, and a video explaining Carefirst "Blue Rewards".
The sign up process and navigation through the tasks can be a bit tedious but so worth the effort.
If you need help, I will be so very glad to help you. Just send me an email.

If you do not have Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance, ask your insurance provider if your plan includes monetary health rewards for a healthy lifestyle.

Have Fun Saving Money!!!

Just a Few Coupon Things...

Hey, Everyone!
First, I must apologize for not keeping y'all up to date on the happenings lately.  My family life keeps me so busy that I can hardly catch my breath.  I have a house filled with the chatter, laughter, and antics of 10 children and their father who now live with my husband and I.  We are living the life we prayed for so we are by no means complaining.  I just sayin' please forgive me for not keeping you informed.

On to the happenings...
Harris Teeter is having their Super Double Deal Extravaganza thru Tuesday.  They are doubling coupons with a face value of up to $2!  So, all of your coupons will be worth twice as much.  For example, a $2 coupon will be worth $4!!!  Harris Teeter only allows 3 identical coupons and a total of 20 coupons per card per day. Their rain checks never expire.

Use the Hot Coupon World database to sort on $1 and $2 coupons.  Go to the column that says "value".  Click on it and choose $1 or $2.  All of the current $1 or $2 coupons will be listed.  If you need help.  Just drop me a line and I will be more than happy to help.

Remember, ShopRite doubles coupons with a face value of us to and including $1.  Most other stores only double coupons with a face value of up to 99¢.   They allow 4 of the same coupons per card and only 20 total coupons per card per day.

The links below will help you plan ahead.  Remember, coupons are regional and will probably vary as to face value, if they appear in the inserts as listed.  The insert schedule is a guide.  There may be more or less inserts than expected.
Next week:  Do you have FEPBLUE Blue Cross Blue Shield from the Federal Gov't?  If so, you may be wasting up to $300+ dollars every year and not know it.  I will send you links next week to show you how to get those dollars on debit cards that you can use for over the counter medical expenses this year and every year.

Happy Couponing!!!

Is it really on sale???

Coupon preview for April 17th: 2 inserts (RedPlum & SmartSource)

Lots of awesome coupons appeared in the coupon inserts this past weekend.  Don't waste your coupons on items that are either not on sale or are not really on sale.  Look at the items below.  According to my buying guidelines, the item on the left is on sale but the other is not.

I try not to purchase items that are not on sale for at least 25%-30% or more off the regular price.  If I have a coupon for a sale item, I can match it with that item and get it for 50%-75% or more off the regular price.

I have a $1 coupon for Nivea that appeared in this week's Smart Source.  My supermarket doubles $1 coupons..  I will be able to purchase the lotion for $1 using my doubled $1 coupon.  I do not have a coupon for the Nivea lip care.  If I had a $1 coupon for the lip care, I might buy one or two but I would not stock up

The 10 pairs of little ashy arms and legs at my house will need lots of Nivea this summer.

Remember, always check the fine print on the price tag.  Is it really on sale?

Happy Couponing!
