Just a Few Coupon Things...

Hey, Everyone!
First, I must apologize for not keeping y'all up to date on the happenings lately.  My family life keeps me so busy that I can hardly catch my breath.  I have a house filled with the chatter, laughter, and antics of 10 children and their father who now live with my husband and I.  We are living the life we prayed for so we are by no means complaining.  I just sayin' please forgive me for not keeping you informed.

On to the happenings...
Harris Teeter is having their Super Double Deal Extravaganza thru Tuesday.  They are doubling coupons with a face value of up to $2!  So, all of your coupons will be worth twice as much.  For example, a $2 coupon will be worth $4!!!  Harris Teeter only allows 3 identical coupons and a total of 20 coupons per card per day. Their rain checks never expire.

Use the Hot Coupon World database to sort on $1 and $2 coupons.  Go to the column that says "value".  Click on it and choose $1 or $2.  All of the current $1 or $2 coupons will be listed.  If you need help.  Just drop me a line and I will be more than happy to help.

Remember, ShopRite doubles coupons with a face value of us to and including $1.  Most other stores only double coupons with a face value of up to 99¢.   They allow 4 of the same coupons per card and only 20 total coupons per card per day.

The links below will help you plan ahead.  Remember, coupons are regional and will probably vary as to face value, if they appear in the inserts as listed.  The insert schedule is a guide.  There may be more or less inserts than expected.
Next week:  Do you have FEPBLUE Blue Cross Blue Shield from the Federal Gov't?  If so, you may be wasting up to $300+ dollars every year and not know it.  I will send you links next week to show you how to get those dollars on debit cards that you can use for over the counter medical expenses this year and every year.

Happy Couponing!!!

Is it really on sale???

Coupon preview for April 17th: 2 inserts (RedPlum & SmartSource)

Lots of awesome coupons appeared in the coupon inserts this past weekend.  Don't waste your coupons on items that are either not on sale or are not really on sale.  Look at the items below.  According to my buying guidelines, the item on the left is on sale but the other is not.

I try not to purchase items that are not on sale for at least 25%-30% or more off the regular price.  If I have a coupon for a sale item, I can match it with that item and get it for 50%-75% or more off the regular price.

I have a $1 coupon for Nivea that appeared in this week's Smart Source.  My supermarket doubles $1 coupons..  I will be able to purchase the lotion for $1 using my doubled $1 coupon.  I do not have a coupon for the Nivea lip care.  If I had a $1 coupon for the lip care, I might buy one or two but I would not stock up

The 10 pairs of little ashy arms and legs at my house will need lots of Nivea this summer.

Remember, always check the fine print on the price tag.  Is it really on sale?

Happy Couponing!

Coupon Notes...

Hey, Y'all!

(All links are highlighted in yellow)
Just a quick note or two to update you on coupon happenings. First, Harris Teeter is having a Colgate-Palmolive event starting today and ending on March 22nd.  Buy 3 items featured on the flyer and get $3.  Here's the link:  Colgate-Palmolive event   I don't know if this is running at any other stores???

Below are a couple of links that will cause every couponer to shudder
But, all is not gloom and doom.  Here are a couple more links that will bring a smile to every coupon clipper:
Here's a website that is bustin' out with coupon links.
  • Coupon Links
     - This website can be very difficult to navigate.  There is so much information crammed onto the first page
that you will find it hard to find what you want.  But, fix yourself a cup of hot tea and commence to studying the web page
and you just might find some great information.
Great buys this week and next:
  • Corned Beef:  look for prices under $2 per pound and buy as much as your freezer will hold.  Google "corned beef recipes" for ideas on how to cook up your bounty.  Here's a link to get you started... "Corned Beef Recipes"  What time is dinner?
  • Cabbage:  look for prices under 25¢ per pound (17¢ per pound at ShopRite)  Cabbage will keep in the refrigerator for at least 4 to 6 weeks.  The large the head of cabbage, the longer it will keep.  DO NOT REMOVE ANY LEAVES AT STORE.  Store in the refrigerator and do not remove any leaves until ready to cook.  Do not put in a plastic bag.
Finally, I just renegotiated my one year contract with the Washington Post.  I get four copies of the papers each weekend.  The quote for the new subscription for the four Sunday only papers was in excess of $600!!!  Now, you know I was not paying that.  I told the little lady that I could not afford that and would have to cancel my subscription.  You know what came next..."One minute, please...I will transfer you to my termination supervisor."  I gave the same verbage to the supervisor and said I would have to cancel because I only wanted the papers for the coupons and could get a better deal with the Baltimore Sun.  The quote she gave me was for $463.  Nope! Still, not havin' it!  I told her so very politely to cancel my subscription, please.  Bottom line, I got the renewed contract for four papers for $218 a year (99¢ per Sunday paper). I will have to do that same song and dance next March.

Coupon Previews & Deals galore!

Four Coupon Inserts Expected this Weekend!!!

Hey, Everyone!

I am so excited about this coming weekend's coupon bonanza.  Four coupon inserts are expected this weekend!  So, after you shovel out the rest of the snow, sit down and gather your coupons for your next shopping trip.

CVS Deal for FREE Colgate Toothpaste

  • Buy: Two (2) Colgate Max 6 oz or 2 in 1 toothpaste 4.6 oz for $3.49
  • Use: Two (2) $1 off one Colgate toothpaste, 3 oz or larger from Smart Source 1.17.16
  • Pay Out of Pocket (OOP): $4.98 and receive $5 (ECB) ExtraCareBucks
  • Get both items for FREE!!!
Finally, check your local supermarkets for great deals on meat, seafood, poultry, eggs, and dairy products.  Snowbound trucks were not able to deliver milk to the stores and the stores will have more milk than they can sell for the next few days.  This goes for eggs and fresh meat, too.  I doubt this will be advertised but as soon as you can, visit your local supermarkets and head for the produce, meat, and dairy sections.

If you have any questions or want to hang out with me when I go shopping, send me an email.  I am in the process of building our stockpile for our newly expanded family of 14 (3 adults and 11 children).  So, I am combining big box store shopping and couponing.  My goal is to build a self sustaining stockpile for 14 that will make it possible for us to shop only once every 4 to 6 weeks or more except for fresh produce (fruits and veggies).  If we stay out of the supermarket, we will automatically save money without clipping a single coupon.

Still snowbound?  Spend a few minutes looking through the coupon databases for coupons to match the deals in this week's supermarket and pharmacy ads.

Happy Couponing!

House Cleaning for the New Year!

Each year I ask those on my coupon email list to please let me know if they would like me to remove their name from my email list.  It is a new year and I am again asking that same question.

Please let me know if you no longer wish to receive anymore coupon information.  I promise that my feelings will not be hurt...much :o)  You can always request to be added later if you find you miss hearing from me.  I do not want to be part of unwanted email clutter in your inbox.

Also, I did send out the power point presentation from the last coupon class and about 15 emails bounced back because the file was too large.  I will send out a link to the presentation tomorrow...unless you ask me not to do so. :o)

In the meantime, Happy Couponing!

I sent out the Coupon Class powerpoint presentation last week.  However, about 15 email addresses rejected the email because of its enormous size.  So, on to plan B.  I will upload it to my google drive and then share the link with you all.  I will do that tomorrow or Thursday.  No need to send me an email if you did or did not get the presentation.  I will just send the link to everyone.

Good night to all!
