Great Weekend for Couponing!

Table Coupon Organizer
Hi, Everyone...Tons and Tons and Tons!!!!
In other words, lots of hot coupons this coming weekend. Three to five (depending on where you live) fabulous inserts mean you should buy extra papers.  I will update Saturday morning as soon as I check my morning newspaper deliveries.   I saw one blog that listed 5 circular inserts and their coupons that are expected this weekend.  Hope this happens in Metro DC/MD area.

Check those circulars in your Saturday circular delivery for home subscribers and get a jump on everyone else.  There are some awesome deals to be had.  And it looks like you can expect 3 to 5 coupon circulars this weekend!  Check your papers closely BEFORE you pay for them.
I subscribe to 4 copies of the Washington Post@$1 each.  I will get an additional 4 copies ($3 for 2 pk at 7-11).  These coupons will go towards future stockpiling sales.  I scan the Sunday coupon previews and just buy extra copies of the Sunday paper when I see lots of coupons for items I want.  If you live in the Metro DC/MD/VA area, you can subscribe to a year of the Washington Post for 59 cents per week (Sundays only) (must pay the year in advance).

Remember, make your shopping list reflect what you need in your pantry and do not allow your shopping trip to be driven by the coupons.
  • Scan your pantry/stockpile.
  • Make a shopping list by item and not by brand.
  • Scan the list of coupons in your coupon binder and on the
  • Sunday preview list.
  • Scan your grocery and pharmacy circulars for sales that
  • compliment your shopping list and available coupons.
  • For best results, use a coupon database to check the sales.
  • Coupon learning sites and databases:
  • (must register first)
  • (great for finding local deals and coupons)
  • (great website to learn how to coupon and get the biggest deals)
  • Try to only buy items on sale and then match them to coupons.

Final Tip:  Avoid using your coupons the same week they are published unless you can get the item for FREE or almost free.  Manufacturers want you to blow your coupon dollars as soon as possible.  Hold on to them for a couple of weeks and you may get even better deals when prices are slashed to get rid of excess inventory bought to lure you into using your coupons as soon as you get them.

Hang in there and don't get discouraged.  I am still learning and making some really dumb mistakes just like the ones I made on my first couponing trip 16 months ago.  I and my couponing are a work in progress.  I hope you can learn from my mistakes.
Go to to see next week's coupons.  Visit the coupon preview site late Thursday afternoon or early Friday to see all of the inserts and coupons.  You can subscribe to this information and receive it in your email on either the Wednesday or Thursday before the circulars are published.

Happy Couponing!
