1¢ Ream of Paper at Staples + More!

Hey, Everyone!

I have been busy getting my parents settled in their new apartment.  They are nearly 90 years old and moving into their first apartment.  My couponing has made it possible for me to stock their closet and bathrooms with FREE shampoo, conditioner, bayer asprin, lotion, toothpaste, mouthwash, paper towels, bar soap, dish detergent, copier paper, and nearly free coffee creamer and coffee.  Fortunately, they will not be doing any of their own cooking and needed nothing from my grocery stockpile :o)  They will be eating in a grand dining room, cruise ship style.

I hope to get back to a normal life of couponing next week.  In the meantime, here are a couple of great deals for us all:
Displaying 20141206_230336.jpg

Look closely at the photos and you will see the notice that ShopRite will continue doubling coupons with a face value of up to $1 (doubles to $2!!)

Next, you can still buy 4 reams of Staples copier paper for 1¢ per ream each week!  I have 55 reams of paper. I have eliminated the cost of paper from couponing.

I use about 1 ream per 6-8 weeks for couponing.  So, my printing costs for paper are less than 1¢ per 1,500 printable coupons.

Print the coupon or bring up the coupon on your smartphone.  I plan to coupon for another 10 to 15 years.  That will take lots of paper!  Go to the link below and get your four reams of 1¢ copier paper.  http://www.staples.com/coupons

The tiny price is after mail-in rebate.  I always do mine online as suggested on the recept.  OOP cost per ream $2.81 (lmit 4 per week).

Two coupon inserts coming: (click the links) RED PLUM  and SMARTSOURCE

Don't forget to print these obscure but valuable coupons:

SmartSource (92+ coupons)    RedPlum (100+ coupons)

PG Everyday (53 coupons)  Master List of Coupons.com Qs

Make sure you have registered your supermarket shopping card on that stores website and then download the eCoupons waiting for you to add them to your card.  Each eCoupon can only be used once at most stores.

Finally, ask your dentist, doctor, dietician, or gym manager if they have any coupons.  They will have coupons that have a higher face value and may not be available on any website.

CVS Freebies for 4 Days Only!

Hey, Y'all!

Don't forget to check the FREEBIES on pages 1, 3, 14, & last page of your CVS Weekly AD.  There are lots of bogo freebies but there are also lots of items that will be free once you get the ExtraCareBucks Reward.  The sale ends WEDNESDAY and not Saturday!  I learned this the hard way last November and missed a ton of freebies.  A brand new CVS Weekly AD will be available Thursday.

There are two ways to get your freebies.  First, you can just load up your basket with the freebies featured in the CVS Weekly AD.  You will end up with a ton of ExtraCare Bucks off your next purchase.

The second way, buy one item and take the ExtraCareBucks you got for item number one and use it to pay for item number two. Take the ExtraCareBuck from item number two and use it to pay for item number three and so on...  Less money oop (out of pocket).

Tips for using ExtraCare Bucks:
  • The ECB rewards do not carry over for another transaction if you use them on an item that costs less.  So, be sure you use your ExtraCareBucks on items that cost the same price or higher.  Don't waste a single penny!
  • If you use a manufacturer's coupon with your FREEBIE purchase, you will reduce your OOP and have a moneymaker!  Your ECB will be worth more than you paid oop.
Please sure to share your shopping victories with us!

Couponing Tips

Hey, Y'all

  • Washington Post Subscription   Sunday Washington Post for 79¢ per week for home delivery in the Wash/DC/MD area.  OR call 800.357.6086, Ext. 1.
The offer ends 12.26.14. To negotiate this deal for several additional subscriptions, you must call.  Rule of couponing: get 1 paper for each member of your family
+ 1 or 2 to make an even number.
  • Staples.com/coupons go get your coupon for $1 ream

Limit 4 reams per week.  You must have a Staples customer loyalty card before ringing up your order.

Finally, if you have a shellfish allergy, be sure you ask if they fry their foods in the same oil as their shellfish.  I did not think to ask this when I got my food from a local chicken place (send me an email and I will tell you which one).  Let's say this, "I will get my chicken from KFC from now on".   You can see my face after eating the chicken.  My left arm, both hands, and upper legs were all affected by the allergen in the chicken.  I spent 5 hours in the emergency room.  Much better now.

Happy Couponing!  ShaRon :o)

CVS Ad Scan for 11.23.14 thru 11.26.14

Hey, Y'all!
The holiday season rush is upon us.  It extends thru the end of the year.
I want to share this CVS ad for the weekend before Thanksgiving.  I looked forward to this same CVS FREE Extravaganza last November.  I happened to be in the store the night before it started.  A couponer emerged from check out with a receipt filled with at least a dozen or more ExtraCareBucks Rewards.  The register receipt was longer than the height of the lady who made the purchases.  I was green with envy! But, I knew I could come back later in the week to get the exact same deals and end up with a bucket-load of ExtraCareBucks Rewards.
I returned the day after Thanksgiving to cash in on all those juicy deals.  HOWEVER, I did not read the front page of the CVS circular.  I missed the part that said the FREE EVENT was to end the day before Thanks-giving.  I was distraught and promised I would not miss it this year and I won't.
Below, you will find a preview of the CVS circular that will come in your newspaper Sunday, November 23rd or on the day before, if you have home delivery.  As always, you can get the sale prices in the circular at CVS after 6 PM Saturday evening.  Click this link or download the pdf attachment: CVS AD Scan for Nov 23 thru Nov 25 ONLY!  (Ad scan from iheartcvs.com

Don't forget to scan your CVS card at the CVS magic red box machine inside the store.  You will receive a 79¢ coupon for a free roll of the CVS brand paper towels and no tax.

Thanks to Theresa (one of my CouponBees) I found yet another source for some great coupons.  Here's Teresa's tip:
"Make sure you are getting the P&G coupon books at Family Dollar and Rite Aid.  I am using the dawn 40¢ q at Harris Teeter making my Dawn 20¢ each."

Inline image 1 Hey, I went right out to my nearest Family Dollar and scored two coupon books.  They are "hidden" behind the counter and you have to ask for them.  I was given just one and my friend got one, too and gave it to me.
Finally, Noodles and Company just opened a eatery near my home.  I signed up on their website and just received my "Happy Birthday Noodle Bowl".  My birthday is actually in January but I wanted it to be in November because we will not be home for most of January and summertime is too hot for noodle soup.  So, I will visit the new Harris Teeter and then stop by for my free bowl of noodle soup on the way home.
Happy Couponing!

Couponing Updates...

Hey, Y'all!
I have been having an awesome time couponing.  When I feel a little overwhelmed with all that I have on my platter, I go couponing.  There is nothing like walking in the store and walking out with loads of free and nearly free stuff.
Saturday, I hit my local ShopRite with apparently every other couponer in Maryland.  I could count the non-couponers on one hand.  Nearly every single shopper had a fist full of coupons or a huge binder bursting at the seams with coupons.  I even saw one of my CouponBeeBuddies there, too.  She shared some great coupons with me.  She was so very sweet to do that.  Me...I don't share my coupons unless they are getting ready to expire and I know I won't use them.  That's when I transform into the "Coupon Fairy".  That makes be feel better about not sharing :o)
I got this email from one of my NJ BizzyCouponBees.  I am so very proud of her:

"ShaRon,
You would be so proud of me.
ShopRite had Ziploc bags on sale for 1.99 a box (reg 2.49).  I had $1 off 2 coupon that I printed from one of the coupon sites this morning.  I bought 4 boxes (gallon size with the slider) using 2 coupons.  Total bill 5.96.  Not great but then I got a $3 coupon off next order and a $2.75 off next order.  So 4 boxes cost me 21 cents.  Now that's a home run.
Karen"

I also stopped into my local Staples and bought my 4 reams of paper for 1¢ per ream (after mail in rebate).  My out of pocket was $20.36 (incl. tax).  I just submitted my rebate online and will get a check for $19.16.  So, my actual cost w/the tax will be $1.20 or 30¢ per ream.  It seams like Staples has this or a similar sale every week BUT you must use the coupon available online only at Staples.com/coupons I have nearly 50 reams of paper!!!  I have taken the cost of paper out of my couponing.

Next, Monday, November 10th is the last day you can get $5 at CVS for getting your flu shot.  I was counting on this but they are all out of the special vaccine for ol' folks like me.  I will go to my doctor next week to get mine and walk away with a sore arm and no coupons.
Finally, I now have a Harris Teeter in my neighborhood.  At least, it is only about 5 miles from my house instead of 10+.  I pass it everyday and want have to make an out of the way trip to cash in on the Super Doubles coupon event when it shows up sometime in December.
Don't forget to go to those awesome printable coupons on my website:  Go to the  TheBizzyCouponBee.blogspot.com and then click the tabs: Master list of bricks and Printable Coupons by the Hundreds.
That's it!

Another Staples Paper Deal!

Hey, Y'all

I have two cases of copy paper (20 reams) and promised myself that I would not buy any more for the next year.  BUT, WAIT!!!

Staples has yet another paper deal and this is just too good to let pass.  Can you say, "Five reams of paper for $4!"  This is after the mail in or call in or online rebate.  This deal is just too good to pass up.

So, click this link Staples Paper $4 Deal and cash in on this great copy paper deal.  Remember, you gotta make clipping and printing coupon costs as close to negligible as possible.  This is a great chance to take the cost of copy paper out of your couponing.

Happy Couponing!

Coupon Previews for 10.26.14

TheBizzyCouponBeeBlog :o)

Hi, Y'all!

I thank you so much for your well wishes for my recovery from my cold and asthma.  I never did get out to go couponing.  I just did not have the energy.  I have a fist full of coupons that I clipped last night and hope to get back in my coupon groove this afternoon.  That's when I will know I'm back to my old self.

I really hoped to do another coupon class before the end of the month but that is a little much for this ol' lady.  I promise to let you know when I do hold my next coupon class.  Hopefully, before Thanksgiving and then again before Christmas and then again before we leave in January for the winter to Florida.  Miss me yet?

Great coupons available next week.  We are expecting three (3) inserts:  RedPlum, SmartSource, and Proctor & Gamble.  I like looking over the coupons in advance because I can plan my shopping trips based on the sales and the coupons for the best deals.  For example, I have a 75¢/1 coupon for Tabasco.  My mother and daughter love Tabasco hot sauce.  It usually sells for $1.79 for the original (2 oz).  I will have to pay just 29¢ each for them after my coupon doubles to $1.50.  BUT, WAIT!

Next, week there is a "$1/1 off any size" (doubles to $2 at ShopRite) coupon "expected" in the SmartSource insert and that would make my Tabasco FREE!  Free is always better than even 29¢.  The operative word is "expected".  We never know exactly which coupons we are getting until we tear open our newspapers like its Christmas morning.  Coupons and face values vary by region (city, county, state).

So, let's get ready to shop!

Happy Couponing!

10.19.14 - Coupon Preview...

Hey, Everyone!

I am back home from Myrtle Beach, SC.
Wonderful trip!
I must apologize for not posting this coupon preview before now.
But, I have been under the weather for the last three weeks.
I caught a bad cold, had to have a tooth extracted, and had an asthma attack.
I have been feeling every one of my 67.8 years plus some more.
I'm feeling better but not to the point that I have wanted to clip a single coupon!!!
I have not even gone to the supermarket or CVS (except to pick up my meds).
I hope to get to HT for a couple of their Super Doubles Deals this weekend where they double coupons with a face value up to $2!
I may have to wait to go to ShopRite until next week.  Just don't have the energy for that yet.

Only expecting one (1) coupon insert this week and honestly, I don't see a single coupon that I would clip.
You may decide not to buy this week's paper except to get the supermarket and pharmacy advertisement flyers.

Happy Couponing!

Free and Cheap Printer Paper at Staples

Hey, Y'all

Remember, when I said that Staples will have free and/or cheap paper every few weeks.  Well, it is here!

I found coupons on Staples.com/coupons for a FREE ream of paper and a $20 case of 10 reams of paper.  Both are after mail in rebates.  I got my free ream about a month ago and my $20 case then, too.  I will go again and get another free ream and a $20 case of paper.  The sale ends on Saturday, October 11th.  You must have the coupons to get the paper deals.

I just ordered my Canon laser printer and it will be delivered to my local Staples in two days.  I barely made it.  It is 11:52 PM and I just placed my order online.  WHEW! Since I am picking it up at a Staples store, I will get a $5 coupon for a future purchase.  I will use that $5 coupon for my case of paper.  So, I will be getting the case of paper for $15! HOLLA!!!

Happy Paper Deals!
ShaRon :o)

Coupon Printing...

Okay Everyone!
If you are paying more than 2¢ per page to print your coupons, you are paying way to much.  The average inkjet cartridge will cost upwards of $30 per color and yield less than 500 pages.  That means you could be paying  6¢ per sheet for black copies (2¢ per coupon) or 18¢ per sheet for colored copies (6¢ per coupon) or even more.
The cost per copy or coupon should be negligible and not even need to be factored into couponing at all.  So, about three years ago, I bought a used Samsung laser printer on Ebay.  I get about 2000 copies per cartridge and my "remanufactured" cartridges cost me $30 each (I bought several to get a discount).  My current cost per black copy is 1.5¢  per copy or about 1/2 cent per coupon.
Canon IMAGEclass LBP6200d Mono Laser PrinterThis deal crossed my email desk this morning and I had to share it.  It is so good that I am going to buy another laser printer.  My current used printer does just fine but one day it will die and I want to be prepared.  This is a one day deal that ends at midnight tonight.  If you buy it online and pick up at your nearest Staples, you will get a $5 coupon off your next purchase. (See the $5 coupon idea below.)  It has 4.5 out of 5 star reviews and it prints duplex (double sided) and my current one does not.  The cost per copy is about 1.8¢ per sheet or 6/10 of a cent per coupon (w/the $39 cartridge from WalMart).

$5 Coupon Idea:  About every 6 to 8 weeks Staples offers a deal on their paper for $20 per case (w/mail in rebate).  Save that coupon and get your 10 reams of paper for $15 or $1.50 per ream.  That's how you take the cost of printing out of couponing!

Happy Coupon Printing!

Coupon Insert Preview 10.12.14

Hey, Y'all

Here are the coupon previews for next week.
Start getting your shopping list together and when the new ads are published for your favorite supermarket or pharmacy, you will be prepared to make some great deals.

Visit your supermarket website online the day before the sales begin.  Usually, you will get a day head start on advertised sales when you access them online.

Do you have a fireplace?  Here's a link for one free PineMountain Fire Starter.  Let me know if it works.  I copied the link I received in my email and I am not certain it will work for you.  If not, please tell me.

Are you up for a challenge?

Here are some great CVS deals to test your couponing skills.
Just follow the match ups for coupons and you could land some great bargains at CVS. I am only including CVS deals because you can quickly be overwhelmed by trying to over shop at several stores.   I very rarely shop at more than one pharmacy or supermarket in one day.  Concentrate on one supermarket and one pharmacy per week and shop them for all they're worth!  You'll get better deals and make fewer mistakes.

If You get stumped, give me a holla!  Send me an email and I will answer your questions or send you my phone number.

Happy Couponing!

Seniors Discount Days!

Many retailers, especially, restaurants, theaters, pharmacies and supermarkets have special discount days for seniors. The qualifying age may vary from store to store.  Ask customer service or the manager for the exact qualifying age.

Most stores like Walgreens give a percentage off the total order.  While others may only discount a single item. Supermarkets often give weekly discounts on a certain day.  ShopRite (each Tuesday) and Harris Teeter (each Thursday) have a designated day each week for senior discounts.  They both give a 5% discount off your entire order.
The first Wednesday of each month is Seniors Day at RiteAid with a 20% discount off everything in the store (must register for their Wellness65+ Program).

The first Tuesday of each month is Seniors Day at Walgreens with a 20% discount off your entire order.  Check the store's signs for exclusions.

As far as I know, CVS does not have a store-wide discount for seniors.  However, all of the pharmacies offer percent off of prescription meds.  You must ask for your discount.  Don't assume because you look old that you will automatically get it.  Many cashiers hesitate to simply give it without asking because they don't want to offend the senior customers.  Go ahead, offend me!  Just as long as I get my Seniors Day discount, I will not take it personally.
Tuesday, Oct. 7th Only is Senior Day at Walgreens!

Seniors Day available exclusively for 55+ or AARP members with a Balance® Rewards card.

We old people can combine our Senior Day discount with sales and coupons for some fantastic deals.  I love being "old people".

Happy Couponing!
